Meet Steve Mentzer
Husband. Father. Businessman. Philanthropist.
That's Steve Mentzer — someone who understands the lives of the people in our community, and someone who has dedicated much of his adult life to helping others.
A lifelong resident of Lancaster County, Steve graduated from Manheim Township High School and attended Elizabethtown College, where he was a business administration major.
A financial consultant who managed portfolios totaling $40 million in assets, Steve was always heavily involved in humanitarian effort — both locally and globally. That passion to help others is what moved him to leave the business world to found and head Central American Relief Efforts, a non-profit organization that mobilizes U.S. volunteers and humanitarian aid to impoverished areas of Central America.
While serving others across the globe, Steve also felt the urge to help his neighbors right here at home. This led him to become the Treasurer of Manheim Township and, later, to run for State Representative.
As State Representative, Steve has earned the reputation as a strong steward of taxpayer dollars, as well as a bipartisan voice willing to put politics aside to achieve common-sense results. Now more than ever, that is what we need in state government.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Steve has given his time and energy to many community organizations, including the Susquehanna Association for the Blind and Big Brothers Big Sisters Lancaster. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Lancaster - South.
Steve and his wife, Sally, currently reside in Manheim Township and have two children.
